Brands that are doing interesting things
For reading week, I was set to find interesting things that brands are doing through their visual merchandising, point of sales and brand identity.
In The Body Shop, I saw that they are doing a double points scheme where you get a £5 voucher if you spend £25. Normally, if you have a Body Shop points card, you would have to spend £50 to get a £5 voucher. This is an easy way to get people to sign up for a points card if they don't have one. It makes people feel like they have achieved something by buying a few items.
For the makeup brand Morphe, I noticed that they launched a collection with Pony Park who is a Korean Makeup Artist. As well as having a designated spot of her collection, they also have a video of the collection across the wall of their store.
Levi’s has a tailor shop, which offers different services such as length alteration, taperings, cutting off sleeves, etc. This is a great addition to the brand as tailoring adds a more personal touch to clothing.
This activity was a great way for me to be more involved in what brands are doing and was also a way to be interested in brands that I would walk past on a regular basis.
