How we can live in a eco friendly world
One of the perks of being eco friendly is that you will be taking care of the planet, not for ourselves, but for future generations to come.
One thing you can do is use less paper and recycle more. The less paper we use, the less paper needs to be produced. For example, If you get monthly bank statements through the post, you can opt in to see your statements digitally. According to Shred-It, “recycling paper helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that can contribute to climate change and it takes 70% less energy and water to recycle paper than to create new paper from trees”
Another thing is to cut down on the energy you use. An example is to turn off your lights and heating when not in use. Wash your clothing at a lower temperature or cut down on using the tumble dryer.
Not only does eating less meat have benefits to your body, it also “significantly reduces emission of methane & other greenhouse gases & free up agricultural lands for growing human food rather than livestock feed” (Barr, 2019)
Due to climate change, our summers & winters keep getting warmer. “In 2018, the UK experienced the hottest summer since 2006 & a scientific study into last years data showed that such heatwaves are now 30 times more likely due to climate change” (Weiss, 2019)
As most of us may know, the majority of these causes are manmade and it is up to us to change the way we live to see improvements happen in our environment.
