Must have skincare products
I’ve been trying to find skincare products that work well for me and, like anything, it has been a lot of trial and error. I've tried (and will continue trying) different products from various brands. What I do know is that I have combination skin and my under-eye area gets really dry in harsh weather. For example during the coldest of winters and the hottest of summers.
The skincare products I'm currently using is the Seaweed Cleansing Gel Wash from The Body Shop. This is something I've been using on and off for a few years. Like the name, it has Mineral Rich Seaweed as one of their key ingredients and is great for combination and oily skin. The upside of this product is that it doesn't strip away the natural oils for your skin and does not dry out the dry areas of your skin. The purpose is to help balance the oils in your skin. The product smells fresh and I do feel a slight sensation on the oily parts of my skin (being the t-zone area) so I do feel like my skin is being cleansed. This is a great alternative to their Tea Tree Range as it is a lot milder.
Another product I use is The Body Shop Intensely Revitalising Eye Cream - Gel from the Oils of Life range. As I've mentioned, my eye area gets very dry and the Oils of Life range is predominantly for those who are in their 30s as that's when you start to show signs of ageing. I am not in my 30s yet and luckily I don't see any signs of ageing, but I really love the products from this range as it’s very rich in texture. The Eye Cream Gel is lightweight, yet very hydrating. I use this every day after I’ve finished cleansing and moisturising my face.
For moisturiser, I use The Body Shop Oil Control Lotion which is part of the Seaweed range. A benefit of this product is that it has SPF 15, so it’s beneficial for the summer months as that is when our skin gets the most sun. Just like the Cleansing gel, the moisturiser is great for oil-balancing/oil control. What I love is the lightweight texture. Surprisingly a little goes a long way. I was very adamant about purchasing this product as I’ve used many lightweight creams that don't really moisturise the dryer areas on my skin, which leaves my skin feeling tight and dry.
I know this was all about The Body Shop products, I plan to do more blogs on different skin care products and brands in the future. I thought I would start with The Body Shop as I used to work with the company in the past and I happen to be using their products in this current time.
