PUMA x Lauren London "Forever Stronger"
Lauren London collaborated with Puma and created an advertisement for her campaign called Forever Stronger. In a recent YouTube video, it states that “Lauren London is proud to join forces with PUMA to support her on this next chapter of her journey. This piece was a creative vision Lauren wanted to bring to life to signify the continuation of her marathon alongside PUMA. Forever Stronger.” Which was written in the caption below the video. The video was set in the streets of LA, which is her hometown. The video was conducted by a short poem written by Samantha Smith. She is the sister of the late Nipsey Hussle (who was assassinated in March of this year) He (Nipsey) was also Lauren London’s partner.
The video showed people in their rawest form. It showed people doing day-to-day activities such as walking, driving by, kids bicycles on the side of the roads. It showed a different side of LA. It showed a more residential, less boujie type of living. I love how they showed this side of LA as I feel like people need to see this side of town instead of the commercial, upper classed side of town.
I loved the poem that was recited in the video. It holds so much emotion, strength and power. It felt like she [the writer] was really going through it and I could feel her emotions through her words. My favourite line in the poem was “the body hurts, but the spirit grows.” Through all the trials and tribulations we go through, we may temporarily feel a lot of negative emotions such as depression, anxiety, loneliness, etc but in the end, we become stronger and better than before.
